CERTIFICATE RACKETEERING: The Federal Government has suspended the accreditation and evaluation of degree certificates from Benin Republic and Togo. This move followed a report detailing how a degree was acquired from a university in Benin Republic in under two months.

*The National Association of Nigerian Students President for Benin Republic, Ugochukwu Favour, has called for the arrest of the reporter, Umar Audu, who went undercover to expose corruption in the issuance of certificates in the country.

*Also, The Acting Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Chris Maiyaki, says the commission has identified at least 37 illegal universities operating in Nigeria.
