Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced an increase in the wage award for workers in the state for six months.

The governor announced this on Friday during the commissioning of the 12.5kilometer Challenge – Odo Ona – Elewe-Elebu – Apata dualized road project. In October, the Oyo State Government approved the payment of N25,000 naira for workers and N15,000 naira for pensioners as wage award in the state for the next six months.

Although the six months are yet to elapse, the governor decided to extend the wage award to the delight of the workers. He explained that his administration’s decision of the increment was to help cushion the effect of the economic situation in the country.
