Eight nightclubs and event centres within the Ikeja and Victoria Island areas of Lagos were sealed by the State Government on Sunday.
The development was made known in a statement by the Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola, stating that the facilities were sealed for public safety.
Mojola stated that the commission aimed at recording zero accidents in workplaces and public facilities, reiterating its commitment to the safety of lives and properties.
The Director General also emphasized Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s intolerance to violation of safety laws, assuring that such facilities would be continually monitored to ensure they comply with safety laws.
