Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, says it has given the sum of N70 million to rice and wheat farmers to facilitate procurement of improved seeds to accelerate paddy production.
He said this when the leadership of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) and Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria (WFAN), visited him in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He noted that Kebbi is famous for rice and wheat production in Nigeria, adding that his government would maintain the tempo.
He said that his administration accorded premium to agriculture through viable farmer support services to encourage productivity.
