Gombe Police Debunks Removal Of Deceased’s Eyes At FTH
The Gombe State Police Command on Wednesday morning debunked the alleged removal of the eyes of a deceased woman at the mortuary of the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) in Gombe.
The command described the allegation as false and unfounded.
Protesters had on Tuesday gathered outside the hospital gate to protest over the alleged incident.
Following the directive by the State Police Commissioner, CP Oqua Etim, a discreet investigation was carried out to ascertain the truth of the matter.
The police investigation revealed that the hospital management had carried out autopsy on the deceased in the presence of her relatives.
As contained in a statement on Wednesday morning by ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the spokesperson of the command, the autopsy revealed that the deceased’s eyes were intact
