The Israeli army says it carried out air strikes in Gaza in the early hours of Wednesday, in response to rocket fire.

Five rockets had been fired from Gaza – shortly after Israel began withdrawing from a two-day operation in Jenin refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank.

The rockets from Gaza triggered alarms in the southern Israel, but the military said all were intercepted. No injuries were reported.
