Emma Raducanu made short work of qualifier Rebeka Masarova in the first round at Indian Wells on Thursday, claiming a straight-sets victory to ease through the first round.
The 21-year-old looked impressive as she claimed just her fourth victory in seven matches since returning from an eight-month injury layoff at the start of this year.
Raducanu, competing as a wildcard entry at the tournament, claimed a 6-2 6-3 win over the Spaniard in one hour and 26 minutes, after a marathon final game which contained no fewer than 17 points.
