Following its efforts to address the issues of illegal migration and human trafficking, the Federal government has called for inter-ministerial collaboration to work in that regard.

The call was made by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, during her courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, at his office in Abuja.

During her visit, Dr Edu stressed that there is an urgent need to tackle the root causes of poverty and humanitarian crises, which she believes are insecurity, illegal migration, and human trafficking.

She however assured the interior minister that the National Social Register would be expanded to include families and widows of ex-servicemen in the paramilitary organization.
