The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has constituted a board of Inquiry to unravel the immediate cause of the crash of the Nigerian Air Force FT-7NI trainer aircraft during a routine training exercise in Markudi, Benue State.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Air Force’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.

Gabkwet said two pilots on board survived after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. He added there was no damage to property around the area of impact.

The surviving pilots are currently under observation at the NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi.
