MID-MORNING SHOW GUIDE 🎙️

MAJOR-TALKING POINT 🎙️
TOPIC: NIGERIAN CONSUMER CREDIT SCHEME
Barely a month after the launch of the first phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme, at least 1.6 million Nigerians have submitted applications.

However, there are questions that need to be asked about the viability of the credit scheme.

• While commendable, for a country still struggling to establish a standard living wage, how realistic is the consumer credit scheme?

• Is there job security in Nigeria, and what happens if the borrower loses their job?

• Are there chances that the consumer credit scheme will face the same fate as fintech do in trying get borrowers to repay their loans?

• The allocation in the 2024 budget is “just” N100 billion naira or about $85 million dollars. But is that sufficient capital?
