The Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, says there is a mutual agreement between workers and the Federal Government and the state counterparts that there is an urgent need to increase the minimum wage.

Adams Oshiomhole, who was a guest on a television programme on Wednesday, said that all concerned parties acknowledged that the current minimum wage of N30,000 is outdated and should be increased to meet with rising cost of living.

Adams Oshiomhole, who is a former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) however commended the Federal Government for assuring the workers that a new minimum wage will take effect from May 1.
