Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has won the 2024 Golden Boy award for his astounding breakout year with Barcelona and Spain.
At just 17, Yamal became the youngest-ever winner of the Golden Boy award and the third Barcelona player to claim the honour in the last four years, following in the footsteps of teammates Pedri and Gavi.
He won the award, edging out top talents like Joao Neves, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Warren Zaire-Emery to claim the coveted honour.
In October, he claimed the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, making history as the youngest player to receive the award, which celebrates the top under-21 talent in men’s football.
Yamal played a key role in Spain’s triumph at the European Championship last summer, winning the Young Player of the Tournament award. He was also named in the Team of the Tournament, and his stunning semifinal goal against France was voted the Goal of the Tournament.
